One of the greatest sources of negative feedback is my use of experiential language, because it includes things like artistic metaphors and emotional expression.
I divide language into two categories:
1. Observational: Language that is based upon appearance and derived mainly from left brain function
2. Experiential: Language that is based upon experience and derived mainly from right brain function
Scientific analysis is based upon appearance, and thus utilizes mainly descriptive language. This is the language of what is visible to the observer, and science likes experiments with visible results.
However, my body of work centers around the unconscious experience. It is centered around the unseen, your brain’s connection to your organ function, your evolutionary history, and how those sensations are expressed.
How I believe it works is as follows:
Emotions and experiential language work based upon a voting system. At any given point in time, all of the cells within your body are having their own individualized experiences. Experiential language attempts to express how the “collective you” is feeling (this can be used on both an individual and societal level).
The limitations of experiential language or emotional language is that, because it is based upon the integration of many different signals at once, it is pattern-based, and therefor lacks concrete detail. However, its strength lies in the fact that it is capable of capturing and inputting information from more sources.
It is the lack of concrete detail in experiential and emotional language that turns most away from taking my analysis seriously. My answer to that is simple: precision is not accuracy. There is a perfect balance between precise and holistic analysis that gives you an accurate image.
When I use experiential, holistic, artistic, or emotional language, I will be translating it into descriptive language as well, and explaining my translating process. This is one place in which I will not budge based upon feedback, because I feel it is the most accurate means of expression in certain circumstances.
I will, as I write further, also include a glossary of emotional expressions and their scientific translations here for reference.
After this post, I will be posting what I refer to as my “master keys,” which will guide the reader through the rest of my writings.
Thanks for reading 🌿
